Spoiled for Choice for Pubs in Llanrhidian, Gower
As of May this year, Llanrhidian’s Dolphin Inn has re-opened its doors. This 18th Century pub – a Gower treasure – was much missed by locals and visitors alike when it temporarily closed its doors after being run for three generations of the same family.
It’s now back at the heart of this quiet, north Gower estuary village, offering a warm welcome and a long list of real ales, in a cosy and traditional setting. This is thanks to the new owners and managers, who also own and run the fabulous Welcome to Town Inn, just across the road.

Oxwich Treasure
At Bayview, Oxwich we sometimes take for granted what’s actually right under our noses. Our eyes are so often drawn to the wonderful coastal vistas across Oxwich Bay to Three Cliffs Bay and beyond, that we neglect to look right, and take notice of the castle walls that rise spectacularly through the woodland adjacent to our land.

The well respected travel brand, Big 7 Travel, has recenly published a list of the top 50 most beautiful places in the UK. At Bayvew Oxwich we’re pleased, but not surprised, that Wales figures hightly yet again. On our doorstep – Oxwich Castle
Sometimes we take for granted what’s right on our doorstep at Bayview, Oxwich. It’s only when we (and our guests) look right, do we see the past very much in the present. Such is the case with Oxwich Castle, just a short walk from Bayview.
Tŷ Sawna – Oxwich’s new Sauna by the Sea
Reading this feature, you might at first assume that the name, Tŷ Sawna, is a new addition to our luxury holiday rental accommodation Tŷ portfolio here at Bayview, Oxwich. All our current luxury flats and contemporary cottages use Tŷ (the Welsh for house) to identify them: Tŷ Megan, Tŷ Flo, Tŷ Alice, Tŷ Gwawr and Tŷ Seren.
Three Gower Shipwrecks – a walk back in time along Rhossili Bay
At Bayview, Oxwich on the south side of Gower, we’re relatively sheltered from the prevalent south-westerly winds that buffet the north and western edges of the peninsula. When the summer sun shines, and the sea is calm, it’s hard to imagine that Gower has been the graveyard over time for 250+ vessels that have come to grief in storm-force conditions along its treacherous coastline.
