BBC’s ‘The Night Manager’ – Gower bay takes starring role
At Bayview Oxwich, like millions across the UK, we’ve been glued to our televisions since the beginning of 2026, gripped by the BBC season 2 production of ‘The Night Manager’ which dropped on 1st January.
And we haven’t been disappointed. This second season delivers intrigue and espionage aplenty, living up to the first season which aired in 2016 garnering major critical acclaim and ratings success as well as 3 Golden Globes! Season 2 continues the story of le Carré’s novel with a new plot inspired by le Carré’s characters, expanding the series beyond the original novel.
At Bayview Oxwich we’ve been captivated by our favourite UK actors including Tom Hiddleston and Olivia Coleman in this production directed by David Farr. It is indeed a stellar cast. But what we’ve been most captivated by is our very own stellar beach, Three Cliffs Bay, taking a starring role too, showcasing what we have on our doorstep here at Bayview Oxwich, to a UK and global audience.
The unique setting of Three Cliffs Bay with its dramatic limestone cliffs and its sweeping sandy bay, is the perfect complement to the show’s themes. It was wonderful to see a Gower cottage and this familiar bay in the production, and to see actors walking along ‘our’ patch of Gower.
You might not know that the three iconic limestone stacks of Three Cliffs Bay, are represented in our lovely Bayview Oxwich logo. And that is what you get in reality as a visitor to Bayview Oxwich – that vista of the vast expanse of sand with dramatic cliffs in the distance. All from our private grounds and from our luxury holiday rental retreat, cottages, and apartments.
Three Cliffs Bay is regularly named among the best beaches in the UK and the world, and we’re not surprised that the location was chosen by the production team along with those in England, Spain and Colombia. And it’s only a 20-minute walk along the beach from Bayview Oxwich, or a 10-min drive to parking at Parkmill if you want a different access to this beautiful bay.
If you’ve been blown away by ‘The Night Manager’ and its very special Gower location, why not come and see it for yourself and walk in the footsteps of its characters. Bayview Oxwich like Three Cliffs Bay welcomes visitors all year long.
Please ring the Team at Bayview Oxwich to discuss which of our wide selection of character and contemporary holiday rental properties would suit you and your family and friends the best. The Team is always more than happy to advise and answer any questions you might have.
Hope to see you in 2026!
