Gower bay takes starring role in new BBC Drama ‘The Guest’
Like us at Bayview Oxwich many of you will have been glued recently to the BBC 1 new drama series ‘The Guest’. Premiered on 1st September, the 4-part drama starring Wales’ national treasure, Eve Myles, is a fast-paced thriller described as having “action, intrigue and shocking twists.” If you haven’t seen it yet, you can catch up with it on BBC iPlayer.
Also taking a starring role in ‘The Guest’ (again) was our very own Gower peninsula’s Rhossili Bay which must surely be one of the most striking backdrops for drama in the whole of the UK. The isolated old rectory on Rhossili Down overlooking the ocean served as the coastal home for the characters Fran and Ria. The drama also featured the iconic tidal island of Worm’s Head, Wales’ unique coastal path, scenes filmed at Llangennith (mid-way along this awe-inspiring 3-mile stretch of sandy beach) looking back at the views at Rhossili, and a stunning scene featuring the dramatic Devil’s Bridge – the rocky limestone outcrop towards the tip of Worm’s Head!
Rhossili Bay has a long history of being the chosen location for a wide range of film, TV and advertising shoots. From BBC’s sensational brand ‘Dr Who’ (New Earth episode starring David Tennant and Billie Piper) to ‘Torchwood’, and a string of TV adverts, the bay is a lead character in itself.
So if you’d like to see the location of ‘The Guest’ for yourselves, be our guest at Bayview Oxwich. Located just a 15-min drive from Rhossili Bay, we offer a collection of luxury retreats, cottages, apartments and a stylish bungalow, all synonymous with the excellence the Bayview Oxwich brand has become known for.
