At Bayview Oxwich we’ve been a little late to the party and only recently realised that Gower’s status has been changed from Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) to National Landscape. What’s in a name you might ask? A lot, it seems. And it’s all good now and for the future.

Worm’s Head, Gower must surely be one of the most iconic coastal landscapes in the UK. The limestone promontory at Rhossili is a tidal island and as its Viking name embodies, resembles a worm, stretching out into the wild Atlantic Ocean.
Ironman 70.3 Swansea and Gower and the global running calendar
At Bayview Oxwich we’re delighted to share the news that this year’s Swansea and Gower’s Ironman 70.3 will take place on Sunday, 13th July 2025. Although it might seem like a fair way off, athletes are already registering and training hard for the swim, bike, run event that has become the highlight of the running calendar here in Swansea and Gower for competitors and spectators alike.
