At Bayview Oxwich, we’re used to the sight of our very own Gower ponies roaming freely on the Gower peninsula. But visitors are often blown away by these semi-feral, hardy ponies – primarily Welsh Mountain Ponies, Welsh Cobs and other breeds and cross breeds, seemingly grazing free-range on Gower’s common lands, saltmarshes, hillsides and even cliff tops!  

At Bayview Oxwich we’ve always known that our very own Gower peninsula beaches are some of the best in the UK, if not the whole world. But now the well-kept secret is out and one of our most beloved bays, Three Cliffs Bay, has been ranked for the first time among the TOP 50 beaches in Europe in TimeOut UK’s official list for 2025.

Like us at Bayview Oxwich many of you will have been glued recently to the BBC 1 new drama series ‘The Guest’. Premiered on 1^st September, the 4-part drama starring Wales’ national treasure, Eve Myles, is a fast-paced thriller described as having “action, intrigue and shocking twists.”

Bayview Oxwich understands what an important part of the family our four-legged friends are. We’ve recently welcomed Aussie, a golden retriever puppy, to the Reilly family here at Bayview, making a lovely companion for Luna, our gentle five-year-old Labradoodle, who has taken her new friend to heart.

Gower has long been acknowledged as one of the UK’s best surfing destinations. Being a peninsula, and being so compact, there’s always a break of some kind (beach, reef, sand bank) that is working and accessible. That’s why it has drawn surfers – seasoned pros and those starting on their surfing journey – to Gower’s waves, outstanding coastal scenery, and warm Welsh Gower welcome.

At Bayview Oxwich we sometimes take for granted the stunning cliff and coastal scenery and beautiful bays right in front of our eyes. Such is the case with Three Cliffs Bay, Gower, with its iconic limestone cliffs which we can see from our 12-cares of elevated private grounds and from many of our collection of luxury rental properties. And it is only a 20-min flat walk away by beach and less than a 10-min drive by car.

Bayview Oxwich is delighted to share the news that the much-anticipated Gower Walking Festival programme for 2025 has been announced. This year, the festival will run from Saturday 6th September until Sunday 14^th September and will offer walkers a choice of over 30 walks, including familiar favourites and new and exciting routes designed for all interests and abilities.

At Bayview Oxwich we’ve realised that we’ve never put fishing in the Gower peninsula into focus before. It was only when we were out walking on one of the north Gower beaches recently, and saw so many people having a wonderful time in this pursuit, that we knew we had to put that right!

The summer season is hotting up at Bayview Oxwich and we’re welcoming visitors, old and new, back to our luxury rental properties on the Gower peninsula. This time of year is alive with activities and festivals, designed for our guests and locals alike.

One of the high spots of the festival season is the Gower Festival itself. For over forty years this festival of music and the arts has brought internationally acclaimed artists and musicians to the Gower peninsula.

The Festival Season in about to begin in the Gower peninsula, that time of year for music, marquees and fun-filled, family entertainment. And this year, Gower’s got not one, but two super festivals in the most wonderful location at Weobley Castle.

At Bayview Oxwich we’ve been a little late to the party and only recently realised that Gower’s status has been changed from Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) to National Landscape. What’s in a name you might ask? A lot, it seems. And it’s all good now and for the future.
