At Bayview Oxwich we’ve realised that we’ve never put fishing in the Gower peninsula into focus before. It was only when we were out walking on one of the north Gower beaches recently, and saw so many people having a wonderful time in this pursuit, that we knew we had to put that right!

The summer season is hotting up at Bayview Oxwich and we’re welcoming visitors, old and new, back to our luxury rental properties on the Gower peninsula. This time of year is alive with activities and festivals, designed for our guests and locals alike.

One of the high spots of the festival season is the Gower Festival itself. For over forty years this festival of music and the arts has brought internationally acclaimed artists and musicians to the Gower peninsula.

The Festival Season in about to begin in the Gower peninsula, that time of year for music, marquees and fun-filled, family entertainment. And this year, Gower’s got not one, but two super festivals in the most wonderful location at Weobley Castle.

At Bayview Oxwich we’ve been a little late to the party and only recently realised that Gower’s status has been changed from Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) to National Landscape. What’s in a name you might ask? A lot, it seems. And it’s all good now and for the future.

Whether you’re of any faith or of none, the Gower peninsula offers wonderful walking routes to take in the best of its spectacular coast and countryside scenery as well its blessing of 17 historic churches and countless Celtic and Medieval sacred sites.

At Bayview Oxwich we’ve been rekindling our love for one of Gower’s best-known and best-loved inns – King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston.

Worm’s Head, Gower must surely be one of the most iconic coastal landscapes in the UK. The limestone promontory at Rhossili is a tidal island and as its Viking name embodies, resembles a worm, stretching out into the wild Atlantic Ocean.

At Bayview Oxwich we’re delighted to share the news that this year’s Swansea and Gower’s Ironman 70.3 will take place on Sunday, 13^th July 2025. Although it might seem like a fair way off, athletes are already registering and training hard for the swim, bike, run event that has become the highlight of the running calendar here in Swansea and Gower for competitors and spectators alike.

At Bayview Oxwich we were delighted to see the Gower peninsula feature, not once, but twice, in their Spring 2025 magazine. The two articles illustrated the huge diversity packed into our compact peninsula. Visitors who stay with us at our luxury holiday rental properties can see so many different physical and cultural landscapes all within a 20-minute drive from Bayview Oxwich.

But Marie Curie, the wonderful UK Charity helping people get the best care possible right to the end, has an unmissable event coming up called Beat The Gower Coast  inviting walkers to be part of its UK-wide Beat The Trails Campaign to raise money and awareness of Marie Curie.
