The Gower Festival – thrilling visitors and locals alike

The summer season is hotting up at Bayview Oxwich and we’re welcoming visitors, old and new, back to our luxury rental properties on the Gower peninsula. This time of year is alive with activities and festivals, designed for our guests and locals alike.

One of the high spots of the festival season is the Gower Festival itself. For over forty years this festival of music and the arts has brought internationally acclaimed artists and musicians to the Gower peninsula. This year, after a sell-out success in 2024, the Gower Festival returns to thrill Gower audiences, in the ancient and atmospheric churches we are blessed with across the peninsula.

Our churches are many, ranging from the largest at All Saints in Oystermouth to the small and beautiful church at St David’s in Llanddewi. Many are medieval, and all are unique and intimate spaces with fine acoustics.

This year the Gower Festival programme which will run during the first two weeks of July, is even more diverse offering a huge range of performances to delight and thrill including jazz, baroque, piano, classical, and strings by some of the most highly regarded artists in the business. As well as this, the Gower Festival Programme also includes a literary event to coincide with the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, and a hotly anticipated evening with the acclaimed, award-winning Swansea writer, Joe Dunthorne who will be at the lovely St Cattwg’s church at Port Eynon.
