At Bayview Oxwich we offer guests double the opportunity to celebrate love! Not only do we celebrate St Valentine’s Day on 14^th February, but in Wales, we also celebrate our very own patron saint of lovers, St Dwynwen, on 25^th January – Dydd Santes Dwynwen/St Dwynwen’s Day.

It’s great to start 2026 with some wonderful (but not surprising news) that one of Gower’s many magnificent bays has been crowned the UK’s number 1 destination for winter walks. Rhossili Bay came out top in UK brand Go Outdoors’ survey of great places for a walk when the weather is cold and the days are short.

As 2025 comes to a close and 2026 is just around the corner, it’s the perfect time for Bayview Oxwich to announce that we’re proud to be partnering with Coastal Awakening who are bringing a unique experience to the Gower coast.

The Gower peninsula and Swansea, its nearby city by the sea, grabbed the headlines in the November 2025 edition of high-end publication Vogue. Between its glossy covers, Carys Zeta Jones, the twenty-two-year-old daughter of Swansea-born film icon and Oscar-winner, Catherine Zeta Jones and Hollywood royalty, Michael Douglas, took readers on an emotional journey back to lovingly-remembered holidays spent with family in the Gower peninsula.

At Bayview Oxwich, we’re used to the sight of our very own Gower ponies roaming freely on the Gower peninsula. But visitors are often blown away by these semi-feral, hardy ponies – primarily Welsh Mountain Ponies, Welsh Cobs and other breeds and cross breeds, seemingly grazing free-range on Gower’s common lands, saltmarshes, hillsides and even cliff tops!  

At Bayview Oxwich we’ve always known that our very own Gower peninsula beaches are some of the best in the UK, if not the whole world. But now the well-kept secret is out and one of our most beloved bays, Three Cliffs Bay, has been ranked for the first time among the TOP 50 beaches in Europe in TimeOut UK’s official list for 2025.

Like us at Bayview Oxwich many of you will have been glued recently to the BBC 1 new drama series ‘The Guest’. Premiered on 1^st September, the 4-part drama starring Wales’ national treasure, Eve Myles, is a fast-paced thriller described as having “action, intrigue and shocking twists.”

Bayview Oxwich understands what an important part of the family our four-legged friends are. We’ve recently welcomed Aussie, a golden retriever puppy, to the Reilly family here at Bayview, making a lovely companion for Luna, our gentle five-year-old Labradoodle, who has taken her new friend to heart.

Gower has long been acknowledged as one of the UK’s best surfing destinations. Being a peninsula, and being so compact, there’s always a break of some kind (beach, reef, sand bank) that is working and accessible.
